Long Term Retained Technical Services

WPD selected Nexus to offer long-term onsite technical labour to assist with a large scale business transition project.

Solution

Western Power Distribution (WPD) is the electricity distribution network operator for the Midlands, South Wales and the South West.

WPD wanted to work with a proven IT company and selected Nexus to provide 1st and 2nd line technical engineers for extended periods, who could work onsite to provide support for some of their internal projects. The arrangement spanned 6 months and a team of technicians and engineers from Nexus worked onsite alongside the WPD IT department. WPD purchased blocks of time using Nexus Retained Technical Services (RTS) until all their projects were completed. Some of the projects that Nexus engineers supported included:

  • Large scale Microsoft Exchange migration
  • Systems policies and security
  • Enterprise and desktop infrastructure support
